So why people do not know that reciprocal links are virtually worthless today? A major problem is that most people are not "SEO Guru" and think it's wonderful and just like they refer to me so I link to you.
The other problem is that reciprocal link exchanges that dominate the results established their authority when the relationships was worth five years ago! Thus, the site owner unsuspecting made a simple search for "link exchange" or "directory link exchange" and is presented with a load of fun sites to a lot of people who want to exchange links with their research. Simple.
But definitely a waste of time at that time.
What they see in these results is a relic of antiquity - and the owner reciprocal link exchange is not going to say that reciprocal links are not worth the time they take to gather is he?

Now that "excessive" amount is not fixed, but Matt Cutts, head of spam at Google, says in a blog more of a total of 100 left. So if your reciprocal link to visit a lot of sites that have exchanged hundreds of random reciprocal links to see, ask yourself, they harm their sites more than good?
So why take the risk, and spend time and effort to the mutual links, which can also stop the traffic on your site as people from the reciprocal links to earn?
The answer is to only create one way incoming links. That means, another site with links for you, but you do not refer to them. It is much harder to get those links and you will not find a reciprocal link exchange directory to tell you that, or how to go about getting one way backlinks to your website.
The next time you need to left, jump on past the directory reciprocal link exchange to find, no matter how big and full it seems! They are carrying a cargo of poisoned apples, and your site will be more than one way inbound links to build long-term benefit.

The beauty of these blogging engines and CMS platforms is the lack of limitations and ease of manipulation that allows developers to implement rich content and 'skin' the site in such a way that with very little effort one would never notice what it is making the site tick all without limiting content and effectiveness.
